Our exhibition in Washington D.C. : Silence & Freedom Exhibition

On May 1st, Victory Art and the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Washington, D.C., proudly presented a powerful and emotional solo exhibition: Silence and Freedom by Slovak visual artist and art therapist Andrea Ehret. This international collaboration marked a significant cultural moment, highlighting the intersection of creative expression, emotional depth, and the fight for artistic freedom.
Victory Art's first exhibition overseas, held at the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Washington, D.C., the exhibition showcased a new collection of Andrea Ehret's expressive abstract paintings. Rooted in Eastern philosophy and influenced by her background in art therapy, Andrea's work explores the balance between chaos and calm, inviting viewers into a deeply introspective experience. The central theme being silence as a space of potential – where emotion, transformation, and self-awareness take shape through color and movement.
A Loud Message in a Quiet Space
The name Silence and Freedom perfectly captures Andrea's artistic vision. In her own words, silence is not emptiness, but rather a place where emotion and energy are free to grow without judgment. Through vivid layers, delicate calligraphic lines, and intentional negative space, she offers an invitation for viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with the deeper parts of themselves.
The exhibition also served as a quiet protest against creative censorship, which continues to affect artists globally. In this way, Silence and Freedom stood not only as a collection of artworks but as a statement, giving voice to those who are often unheard and celebrating the power of unrestricted artistic expression.

Opening Night Highlights
The evening began with an opening address by the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic, followed by Victory Art founder Viktória Pikovská, who introduced the collaboration and emphasised the importance of promoting artists from underrepresented regions. Andrea Ehret then took the stage, sharing her inspiration behind the collection and captivated the audience with a live painting performance.
Attendees had the chance to talk with the artist, view the works up close, and engage in meaningful conversations. The Embassy's elegant setting and the thoughtfully curated atmosphere provided the perfect scenery for Andrea's powerful paintings and the themes they embodied.
