Yuri Gudkov

	Artist Yuri Gudkov presents himself as a figure skater and landscape painter, reacting to the reality of today, he paints comfortable moments of man and family, but also touches on more serious themes of human existence and the fragile border separating war and peace. His paintings contain funny real-life stories, quirky human figures, and many thought-provoking symbols and allusions.

 

 

 

 

The artistic language of Yuri Gudkov works is expressive and varied. it contains morphological elements of cubism, surreal metaphor and imagination, Chagall's naive poetics and stimuli from lyrical and geometric abstraction. A compositional structure reminiscent of mosaic or stained glass techniques is also common. Yuri Gudkov paints in oil on canvas, sometimes on wooden boards, and color is his dominant medium. It harnesses the magical power of vibrant and even dramatically impressive color tones that have the ability to absorb and emit light and shadow. However, in many of his works he also concentrates on the drawing component of the image, and the solid and dynamic line with which he builds a compositional basis and at the same time interprets gestures is then an important element that gives his painting expressiveness. clearcanon and a significant number of expressions. In 2000 I moved to Israel and that is where I began to seriously paint and study art. Active artist in the society of artists Natanya and Herzliya since 2012, my work is mostly large scale mixed media paintings, and my tools include custom-made knives and large-format brushes.

 

 

I look all the time for a new style and technique of drawing, trying to mix different styles. I paint with oil and acrylic on canvas and on a tree. After 18 years of life in Israel, I moved my place of residence and work. I live and paint in Slovakia.
