The "In the Mirrors" series is centered on the concept of perception and reflection, exploring the diverse ways we perceive ourselves, not just through internal reflections but also through our interactions with others. Thus, these contrasting perspectives shed light on various aspects of our character.
Capturing the essence of an individual in a single painting, especially in a self-portrait, poses significant challenges. In response, I have chosen to depict fragmented parts, such as cropped sections or segments of the face and body, to represent the inherent complexity of human identity, introspection, and external observation. This arrangement serves to highlight different sides of our personality. As each piece contributes to the whole, the varied hues and compositions of these canvases similarly mirror the countless factors affecting our perceptions and actions.
These works showcase how both internal thoughts and external influences shape how we see ourselves and how others see us. It's a journey of self-discovery and understanding our place in the world.
