24K COLLECTION

This is a collection of Andrea’s art pieces that involve her work with golden powder and represent a golden embrace called the 24K Feelings. Her main intention with this exhibition was to offer an authentic perspective portraying an illusion of the inner and outer world. Born in Slovakia, Andrea was the child of two intellectually creative individuals.

Growing up, this allowed her to approach her passion for art with her parents constantly teaching her how to adopt an artistic perspective. She learned to see abstract beauty in things. Her works of art offer a reflection and contemplation of the world. The exhibition also entailed a live painting by Andrea. The artist deeply connects with live painting performances because, to her, they are absolutely raw. There is no fake moment in a live performance.

Art necessitates exhibition. Art is timeless. It is not just about the aesthetics and brushwork, but about the emotions, it instils in people. Artworks that really capture the viewer’s attention and connect with the viewer on a deeper level ferment a strong reaction in their moods and emotions. Creating art, as well, is an experience, as expressed by Andrea Ehret, which can make her feel more confident in herself and can make her reconnect with herself on a deeper level.

“In paintings, there is this piece of humanity. It is passionate. There are fears and emotions, which is what people feel. And it is real, which is why they respond to it," mentions Andrea.

MAJÁK COLLECTION

However aesthetically marvellous it looks, a picture is merely a shell without the core when no context is known. So, don’t judge without knowing everything. That’s what Friedrich Nietzsche meant.

Those who are perceived to be different from the norm by the public have their own story, no matter how insignificant society has made it seem. In Maják, everyone is a unique individual with defining stories that mould them into today's people. Here stand the stories of four Maják residents and their worlds.

Accepting the difference is inherently hard for anybody. People hold dear their beliefs in the face of something deviant than what they perceive. Being merely atypical, regardless of intention, is enough to isolate one from society. Isolation, ostracism, and fear of missing out can lead people to a loss of identity, which is why most people conform to unwritten rules. But for those who have impaired vision and hearing, daily tasks are tremendous challenges: a life a physically functional person can’t fully comprehend. That’s why Maják exists.

Maják, or Lighthouse in Slovak, is a guiding light for people born different from most. Founded by the Association of parents and friends of deafblind children following their concern for their children’s future, Maják is a non-profit organization that provides 24/7 care for deafblind adults. It is the first and only specialized facility in Slovakia. Maják, with the financial funding from the self-governing region Košice and the help from European Voluntary Service, provides service, including specialized physical activities, festival celebrations, and personal development plans, for a maximum of nine residents using an individual approach to the client.

SUSTAINABLE ART COLLECTION

Art has been a sort of collective consciousness of the era in which we live. From the depiction of religious figures during their heyday to everyday civilians as aristocracies fell to the large shift to abstract art after the invention of photography.

Now, as we are becoming more and more conscious of our impact on our home, many artists have learned to furloughed normal mediums to create interesting mixed media pieces that are much more conscious of the environment.

It seems like the right time to introduce a new but definitely rising category of artworks: sustainable art.

These artworks are conscious of the impact they make on the world and have a unique identity to them since the sustainable artists have given themselves the creative license (and challenge) when it comes to the use of materials, and the final result of these choices may be. We hope that by supporting this collection, we will make the people join us in the movement.
